Hi Kathy,
Thanks so much. Both Judith and I are very happy with our new collaboration, and what a fab addition to AHA! We won the lottery on this one.
Are any of you mountain folk coming our way anytime soon? The welcome mat is always out for you. Here's to our nice time in Italia, and to the next time, C

Cynthia,

First and foremost, thank you, thank you, thank you for a wonderful trip. I can’t believe I was lucky enough to win such a wonderful experience. You do a great job and of course, I will spread the word. I’d like to do it again in Europe.

In hindsight, I have to admit that I was a bit tenuous about traveling with folks I didn’t know and having a roommate. That’s not how I usually travel. But it was great! You are a perfect roomie and I really enjoyed getting to know you and the girls. What a gift – a wonderful travel experience and new friends. I don’t think I could have asked for anything more.

Again, thank you, and for the nice note and bookmark.

Bye for now,
Marty

I find myself thinking the same thoughts and feeling the same pull to return to certain places again and again, even though there are SO many other places I would love to see and experience. Paris, for example, or Florence. I feel I could explore the Parisian arrondissements endlessly and never tire of it -- it's ever new. Florence is more intimate, but the thought of walking in the footsteps of Michelangelo captivates me. A couple U.S. cities have the same pull -- I could endlessly enjoy the architecture in NYC, for example, watching the light and shadows change across the facades of the skyscrapers throughout the day. And in Italy especially, each evening's passeggiata is endlessly fascinating. While the lure to experience new sites and scenes is powerful, the feeling of gaining ever-deeper familiarity with a few places may be stronger still -- at least for me.
